New Public Works Truck arrived 8/9 via 2018 DERA grant!

The new 2020 Freightliner truck for the Public Works Department arrived on August 9, 2019!!!! This purchase was funded in part by a 2018 State Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) Program Grant (in the amount of $40,905.04). This truck replaces the DPW's 2000 Internatonal truck. The Town of Beacon Falls is very excited to receive this truck and thanks the DERA program, DEEP and EPA for making this purchase possible! The technology advances with the purchase of this new truck will contribute to air quality improvements by reducing emmissions (nitrogen oxides & particulate matter) and decreasing fuel consumption. It is one step toward a "greener" Beacon Falls!!
